Sea turtle hatchery

Watching turtles are one of most interesting thing can be attended in near Mirissa because there are many places can be visited for observing the behavior of turtles. Many turtle hatcheries located on the beach. It is one of great work to protect this endangered animal. Koggala, Habaraduwa, Weligama are famous places for laying eggs and people do care those eggs until baby turtles are coming out and when they grow up release to the sea. There are five varieties of turtles can be seen in down south of Sri Lanka. The Southern part of the Sri Lanka became turtle’s finest place for laying eggs and that is why those turtle conservation projects are carried on. Also, guests can attend volunteer basis for conservation process too. Release the baby turtles to the ocean is a truly amazing thing.
